This journey of following Jesus and living in our new identity is not always easy. We need encouragement to keep going, as well as the reminder that we are part of a much larger spiritual reality. As Paul closes his letter to the church, he reminds them of the spiritual battle they are in:
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10
“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Ephesians 6:18
How can you look to God for strength today? In the full passage, Paul points to the protection of God’s truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation. How can you lean on God’s Word and pray knowing his Spirit is with you today? Pray for someone who needs encouragement to keep going (and send them a note to let them know you’re praying). Say a prayer for us as a church family to be strong, as well.
