We are not on this journey with God in isolation. An essential part of God’s plan for people is for them to be part of the larger family he is building through his church.
In a message earlier in this series, Eddie shared of the church: “WE ARE the image of God. We don’t build objects that represent God because WE ARE his workmanship. We don’t view the buildings where we worship as temples because WE ARE the temple.” In today’s reading, Paul reminds us that we are joined together (across boundaries of time and space) as a place where God lives – with Jesus as the one who holds it all together.
“Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” Ephesians 2:20-21
Do you see yourself as connected and part of the larger community of the church? What people or activities has God used to help you experience connection? Take a moment to pray and thank God for a person or a place in the church that has helped you experience God’s presence.
