February 1, 2024 It can be easy to view our faith as primarily intellectual or mental, but that is not how the Bible describes it. We were made for every part of our lives to be connected to God and to express and act on our faith in outward ways. And this is more than a one-time event! This is ongoing, developing work – so let these words from today’s reading challenge and encourage you to keep going:

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7

The Message paraphrase says it this way: “School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.”

Pause to consider: What would it look like to be faithful and follow Jesus today? What is one practical step you can take in that direction?
