Here are some ways you can connect with our local mission partners to be more selfless.
- Donate food to the micro at Lanphier High School at 1300 N. 11th St. and pray for this school and it’s community.
- Spend time walking through a local park picking up trash and praying for this area of our community.
- Pay and pray for the person behind you in the drive-thru line.
- Donate new pairs of socks to the Outlet for ‘Sock-tober’, a sock drive for the homeless of Springfield. Donations can be brought to West Side.
- Donate coffee supplies (grounds, filters, cream, sugar, stirrers, etc.) to Washington Street Mission, located at 408 N 4th St.
- Donate paper products (plates, napkins, cutlery, paper towels, etc.) and/or cleaning supplies to Inner City Mission located at 714 N 7th St.
- Donate food (noodles, canned veggies, canned fruits, and snacks) to The Outlet located at 2525 S. 12th St.
- Take bottled water and sandwiches to give to the homeless outside of the Springfield Local Library, 326 S. 7th St.
- Write notes of encouragement and put together a small care package for the staff of Inner City Mission.
- Write notes of encouragement and put together a small care package for the staff of Washington St. Mission.
- Write notes of encouragement and put together a small care package for the staff of one of our local Mission Partners. A list can be found on our compassion page.
- Put together a care package (notes of encouragement, treats and snacks, gift cards, etc.) and deliver to a local Fire Station or Police Station.
- Take a gift of appreciation to a local bus stop for one of our local city bus drivers.
- Donate toiletry items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) to Contact Ministries at 1100 E Adams St.
- Consider taking a stack of cards and notes of encouragement to any of our local assisted living homes and organizations.
- Purchase new toys to donate to St. John’s Hospital’s Pediatric Treasure Box program. Deliver to St. John’s front desk at 800 E Carpenter St.
- Leave a care package (snacks, gift cards, notes of encouragement) for your area mail carrier when they deliver your mail this week.
- Leave a care package (snacks, gift cards, notes of encouragement) for your area waste collector when they collect your trash this week.
